Greens in the garden

It’s been three months since summer officially started here in Norway and three months since I planted greens in the garden.
The beauty of it all is that each summer I can just walk down in our garden and get fresh currants, gooseberries, black currants, apples, blueberries and basil. And know I sound like an old lady loving this but I am (not that old though).
This year I decided to plant cucumber, basil and beetroot as well. Even though I have seen nothing of the cucumber yet and autumn is just around the corner, the basil is looking as beautiful as always. It’s a pretty nice feeling walking barefoot through the grass on your own property, picking berries and fruit that you’ve planted and grown. There’s so much to choose from. The greenhouse is getting closer and closer to finish which makes me a bit more cheerful. Not quite finished but I’ll show you it when it’s done.

Here are a few of my recipes where using fresh berries taste wonderful:
Homemade raspberry jam
Norwegian waffles
Tasty water

Hope you’re having a beautiful day and that the sun is shining wherever you are!
