Listening to a little boy playing with his mother. They are sitting next to me on a bench in Bergen.
The sun is shining and it’s supposed to rain tomorrow.
Orange and yellow flowers are blooming between us and the pond. When paying attention you can smell them.
Two elderly men just sat beside me.
They had bought a vintage lamp, talked about their time in NYC and how dating today is not as free as it used to be.
A little boy just walked by. Learning to walk. Learning to talk. Smiling.
Similar to the ones my great grandmother had. Elegant and beautiful.
A guy with a beautiful bouquet of orange roses just walked by. Wondering what his story might be.
I’m wondering what the old man next to me is thinking.
He’s drinking his smoothie. Eating his baguette.
Maybe he’s just been to the grocery store since a grocery bag is placed next to him. Or who knows?
There are one krykke leaning against his leg.
The next day.
It did indeed end up raining. More than I have ever experienced in fact. Morning was spent in the hotel room watching Good Morning Norway and solving sudoku. Looking into the rain and then taking a long, warm shower. Also a bit of work later down in the reception.
