Sitting by the river. Having time to reflect and watch people go by. I am having a good feeling within.
We followed the river almost to it’s end. Met my mothers uncle along the way and got to spend some time with him – which was nice indeed. We ate lunch at Åpent Bakeri. A beautiful little spot in the heart of Oslo.
I wanted to be a part of this. To spread awareness of the great things to do in the lovely city we call Oslo. The Urban Environment Agency in Oslo reached out to me and wanted to hear my thoughts on one city spot in particular. They are running a campaign called #OpplevOslo highlighting different places to explore in the city. Helping our creativity and bettering our knowledge of the city.
A river called Akerselva runs through the city. People come here to fish, sunbathe, have a picnic or walk their dogs. The river lies right next to small unique cafés, restaurants and night clubs. You can fish your own dinner at this exact spot. If you are lucky that is. A city life may at times be very hectic and no easy to control but having a place like Akerselva to go to and relax is a gift in itself.
Oslo offers a variety of interesting places to explore. Whether you are interested in going for a swim, fishing, playing volleyball or go for a stroll through the city. Maybe just sit at a cafe and watch the world go by? I wouldn’t blame you.
Maybe this inspires you to think of places to visit in your own city. Go and explore!

Now as things are changing – I will be seeing more of Oslo. I might just sit there watching the world go by as I capture it with my camera.
If you need a little inspiration for what to do in Oslo or just in your own city here are a few helpful tips:

Hope you’re having a wonderful day!
