21 years: 21 things I’ve learned

I turn 21 today. Turning 21, or any other age for that matter, is a scary yet wonderful thing. Here are 21 things I’ve learned and that I choose to believe is important to me.

  1. If you get the change to travel, travel as much as you can
  2. Family is the most important thing
  3. There’s nothing better than fresh berries on a summer day
  4. You can’t change the things that has been done. It’s better to do things, then regret not doing it.
  5. Maybe you’ll never quite know who you are and that’s okay
  6. The world is a scary place, but don’t let that stop you from doing the things you want
  7. Regret is a part of life
  8. Late summer nights in Norway when the sun never goes down is not like anything else
  9. The future is bright
  10. Sit down and listen to your heart
  11. Talk to the old lady walking past you on her morning stroll.
  12. Follow your gut feeling, it is usually right. Take risks!
  13. Don’t be afraid of telling others your dreams
  14. Dare to be yourself. Take time to remember who you were and who you want to be to your family and friends
  15. Vurnability is beautiful.
  16. Go outside more! (you haven’t been the best at this, but you should)
  17. Don’t worry about time, you’re not that old!
  18. There’s so much great with being 20 +. Enjoy it!
  19. Take care of traditions.
  20. Take time to relax and do nothing!
  21. Smile at strangers

I’ve learned a lot in my life, but when I now sat down to write down the 21 most important things, my brain froze.
