September 17th. For months workers have been working on building a sports ground where I live and last week the grand opening was held. So many people showed up – people who have lived here for decades and people who have just moved here – young and old.
The ground covers a football field, a tennis court, basket and a running track. The opening ceremony lasted for three hours and was a great occasion for people to finally test out the ground and get together as a community. Food was sold and music was playing. I am looking forward to playing tennis myself. Having the opportunity to get together by playing sport is great. So many people with a smile on their face. It’s moments like this that I love to capture. A party was through at night to celebrate it finally being done.
